indecision

  • Dec. 24th, 2009 at 5:00 PM
happy holidays, all. :)

beneath the cut... a brief history of my hair. i'm trying to decide if i want to chop it off again (it's growing out of an aeon flux-like cut) and give it a fresh start or let it grow and put some colors back in. naturally, my hair is a medium to dark brown. it's currently dyed black. it's in an awkward stage that i feel is making my face look rounder than it is, and of course the first instinct is to cut it so it doesn't look that way to me.

please help a very, very indecisive person!

i've thought about blond again, but it really just doesn't suit me or pop the way i like. i could do platinum, but if i'm doing that from black i think i should just chop it and start over, from my natural hair color, in a few months. i also really like my hair black, with the wild colors. so i'm torn.

what do you guys think?

Third eyelid out

  • Dec. 24th, 2009 at 2:45 PM
Quick question. My cat Oedipus has had this third eyelid showing a lot lately, covering about 1/3 of his eye. And not just after waking up or being sleepy. He's eating and drinking and playing and being normal besides that, but it's just something I've never seen before with him or any of my other cats.

Any input? Could something be wrong?
Lets hope it's a good one, Without any fear! :D
I love that song too much.

Anywho, I figured I would make a Beatley Crimble Spam thingie.

Eggs?

  • Dec. 24th, 2009 at 12:43 PM
So I am vegan due to environmental, ethical, and moral reasons, one of my morals being that we should be way more involved in the production of our food. My parents just asked me if I would eat eggs if they were raising their own chickens. We live out in the sticks, so the chickens would be free range there would be no hormones and they would live off of grass and organic grains and I know that my parents are all for the ethical treatment of animals, they just also believe that humans were not meant to live on a completely animal free diet. So part of me is saying, "yes, eat the eggs, they are from happy, healthy chickens!" and part of me is saying, "No! Those eggs could be little chicken babies!" I am at a loss for what to tell them. I love being vegan, but I sometimes think that if I was raising all of my own food, including chicken, pork, and/or cattle, that I would become omnivorous.

So, my question to you is, what would you do in this situation and what is your argument for or against eating the eggs and possibly the chicken?

Also, I would like to add that my parents would never force me to eat something that I was not comfortable eating and they are actually extremely supportive and cook and eat vegan meals with me when I am home. We actually tend to bond over finding and cooking new vegan recipes or "veganizing" old family recipes.

I appreciate the time you take to answer this question!

Merry Christmas, friends. :)

We're having a frugal, low-budget Christmas this year, so I tried my hand at making a few gifts. They're pretty amateur, but I'm still happy with how they came out.

Click if you'd like to see. :) )

I really had fun making these and loved investing my time and my heart. I hope they're appreciated as much as I enjoyed making them. It really makes me want to make a greater focus on meaningful, hand-made gifts next year.

Note to self: start a little sooner next year!!

MERRY 0.O CHRISTMAS! :D

Can anyone recommend any good books about UK farming from an environmental impact angle and has a scientific basis?

Thanks!

i am trying to find a video that was posted here a while back. it doesn't seem to be in the "video" tags. it was a speech given by a veg*n doctor. one thing i distinctly remember was that he showed what human blood looked like after consuming meat. it was half fat.
